Very nice with the wing opening and with the pano crop. I really like the line the wings create with the change of the water and the vegetation. TFS.

I like this different look at a Loon. Nice pano comp. You might see if the eye can be sharpened a bit.

An artistic image Michael, with the V-wings framing the head perfectly and the balance of the head and wing tops against the tan coloured line of BG.

Striking pose. Since the d-o-f appears a bit short of the head, selective sharpening of the head along with some Eye Doctor work would likely improve it.

What did the full frame look like? What AF Area Selection mode did you use and where was the active AF point?

    Michael:

Excellent wing display, nice that you can see the head and eye, often they flap straight away from you. Be sure to include your technical details so we can better understand the creation of the image. It helps the critique be more focused.

How big of crop is this?

    Cheers

I like the wing patterns and the low POV, good BG too. Agreed with Artie that the head looks a bit soft and could use a sharpening. Loi

Hi Arthur, thanks for your input. I don't know for sure which mode, I think upper center single point?, I try to aim at the eye, but the right pose happened so quickly, plus I am bobbing around in my inflatable boat, that I fell a bit low of my target. Here is the original...

Hi Randy. I am not sure how to figure out the crop factor, or how to communicate it, but I did post the uncropped version in reply to Arthur, hopefully that should give some idea.

    Thanks Michael,

For my repost I did some Eye Doctor work--not many pixels on the head and eye, ran a Contrast Mask on the head to sharpen and darken it selectively, and worked a bit on the mess near the end of the bird's left wing.
