I have spent many hours this year with this family of Peregrines, they have so far successfully fledged four young. This is the dad bringing in I believe a Hermits thrush to three of the four eyases. I was able to get about a 8 count burst of the action with this one being my favorite, that is the female eyas coming in from below trying to steal it from the brother. Thanks for looking. Nikon D5, 600mm E Fl, ISO 4000, 1/2000 sec, F5.6

This photo makes me and Dave drool! Wish I was there when this happened. I'm sure Dave wishes too :D

Fantastic action and a lot to look at here. All birds seem to be sharp at this size of presentation...are they in the large file? Thanks for sharing this, Glenn.

The other male eyas on the right was further back and out of the focal plane, thanks Lorant

I have mixed emotions about this shot. The action is off the charts cool. All the birds interacting, the food exchange, the pose of the incoming bird looking up and the blurry one in the background are as stated above to drool for. But the photo seems a bit flat to me and does not have the type of details I would prefer. Is it a big crop? I am also not crazy about the background and it is a bit distracting to me. Despite that it is a special shot and a pleasure to view.

Drool is right!! Sure wish I was there. One of my favorites from your peregrine files. Not sure most people know how hard it is to actually get an action shot like this. I haven't been hitting it as hard as Glenn but I have been trying for years to get a frame close to as good as this. To get all of the birds with decent poses and HAs and sharp is Not easy at all!!
Right timing, right angle, right poses, right lighting, right gear, right settings, the right photographer and the right lifetime! Great frame buddy.

Oh, men, my hat is off to you Glenn. I tried these falcons for the first time last week and know how hard that is to get all 4 birds in good focus and the food exchange. I had 4 birds in front of me, similar to yours here, but I was way way too slow even to press the button. Huge congrats. TFS. Loi

Thanks everyone for your comments. FYI the auto focus ability of the D5 is amazing, I don't believe my D4 would have grabbed focus in this situation considering the BG

INCREDIBLE SHOT!!! Everything pretty much was lined up for you when capturing this image something as you know doesn't happen that often and to top it off you nailed the focus. This one motivates me to get back into shooting again😄 This image is much more deserving for then 17 comments this has image of the year written all over it.

This is one heck of a frame, Glenn, and I know David & Arash are green with envy. Love the action and the great story. You did well to keep your gear on this fast action. Great details at ISO 4000

Glen, This is one of the best action/interaction images I have ever seen. I am also drooling on the keyboard. Congrats and well done!

This is absolutely stunning. The out of focus trailing juvenile at the back puts this over the top. Wow!
