I have found a place where these birds are flying in to early mornings. Trying to get some interesting action shots but the light levels in my part of the UK are dire. I had to use 12800 ISO to get correct exposure for this shot. Not the best in terms of IQ but I have just swapped my 7D2 for a 1D4. Some would say I was mad changing from new technology to old but I don't think i would have got this image using a 7D2 at that high ISO. All comments most welcome.

Not bad at all for that high of ISO. The feather details look a bit smoothed out due to some NR on the bird but not brutal. I like the incoming pose and the exposure control. Well done for the ugly conditions!

Looks good, I like the action, good contrast with the background, I wonder if you applied NR to the bird, what it would look like if you applied a little less?

Awfully fun pose on this one. There is definitely some lack of detail due to the high ISO.
