Hi all
..... yes it is me appearing from my den
Have not been here or in photographic business for a longer time for various reasons .... lost completely interest in it
I feel a bit rusty on all counts when it comes to editing or judging my own and others work ....
Well nevertheless i went through my archive and found an image that i wanted to process... well it could have been another ... it was more for the exercise
Image taken on South Georgia Island in 2012
Canon EOS 1D MK IV
EF 500 IS L
Tripod
F 5,6 ; Iso 2000 ; 1/1600 sec
Processed with DPP 4 and PS CC ; cropped for comp to 75 % off FF from all sides apart of the bottom
Hello Andreas,
Back from the "den" to the "BPN firing squad", LOL. Just kidding, you were sorely missed around here as far as I am concerned
I see clearly you have not lost your touch when it comes to processing. Some fine work from the archives too:) The lighting here contributes greatly to an already dramatic interaction. Good choice of DOF to place the aggressor in the limelight. It all comes together so nicely, especially if you add in the mix that fierce look and body language from Mr. Big.
I like this scene a lot - so much to look at, so many characters, great feel and great mood, sombre as it may be. Those subdued colours are consistent with the lighting conditions yet the tonality is superb. Those evil eyes are the focus of my attention. Well composed and processed, lots of textures, nice detail, sharpness, great 3D feel - welcome back, Boetie
Hi ANdreas -- Glad to see you back !! Looks like all the mad rush for the Tiger has burnt you out .
This image of yours is fantastic . The look on its face just makes this image for me . Looks very well processed as usual , " who says you have lost your touch " ??
Really glad you crept out of your "den", mein freund!
I like this image - great intensity in the expression, and the flying mud adds. Even the one peeping over the bad boy's back is a cool compositional addition.
Was he just pestering the other seals or being more dominant than that?
Hi Andreas - I did not realize Germans hibernate like bears . Glad you have surfaced and are dusting off your skills. What a wild eyed look this big seal is giving. Framing and tones work. Kicked up sand adds to the feeling of movement here. Nicely done.
TFS,
Rachel
P.S. Sorry I was late in commenting. I've been off the grid for a week.
