    Checkmark Sunbittern at nest

For over a month and with the use of a blind, I cover the nesting, incubation and hatchling of this beautiful bird in Costa Rica.

First, Welcome to BPN. It's THE place to learn and to share -- in part by commenting on others' images. I look forward to more of yours.

What a wonderful species this is! One that I've hoped for, but missed, on several trips to the area. This is a great pose with a nice BG and good detail (maybe just the tiniest bit oversharpened?) I'd be tempted to remove the flash catchlight. It would be helpful if you would include the EXIF data.

    Jeffrey:

    Welcome to BPN.

I like the composition, lighting, and background. I agree about a bit oversharpened as the edges of the bird make it look just a bit like a cut out pasted on the bg.

As Bill mentioned, please include your shooting and post processing data. It really helps us understand the creation of the image and critique it more effectively.

    Look forward to more.

    Cheers

    Randy

Very nice image and welcome to BPN. I have never seen this bird before and always enjoy being introduced to a new species.
I love the natural history you have shown here.
    Great clean nest and BG.
I like the loose feather on the back and that long beak.
    Good advice above,
    Gail
