    Dottie and I went to Merritt Island NWR yesterday. I captured this image of a spoonbill along Bio Lab Road. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D7000
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED shot at 360mm (540mm FFE)
    1/1600 F/7.1 Matric Metering 0 EV ISO 500 AWB, camera supported by a monopod
    Post processed in Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC, smoothed out a out of focus branch in the lower left corner, removed a couple dark ripples above the birds head
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    Really graceful shot with wonderful colours. I would have liked to see the bird and the log a little large in the frame.

    Joe, Nice to see a spoonie shot that's a little different. I like it. I could see taking some off the bottom and adding an equivalent amount to the top, and maybe moving the bird a bit further left in the frame.

    I like the clean water and the perch, good HA but the sun angle was not ideal casting shadows here
