    Default Short-billed Dowitcher

Photographed last week at Ft. Desoto's North Beach. It was still quite early in the morning and I was already wet, dirty, and sandy from neck to toe...but it felt great!! First time I had ever seen a Dowitcher from close range.

    Canon 40D + 100-400L @360mm, 1/1000s., f/7.1, ISO 400, -0.7 EC, fill @ 0.7 FEC, handheld lying flat on damp beach.

Love the lighting in this image Daniel and the perfect low angle and composition.. Sharp and excellent detail. Beautiful capture !!!

Great angle, light, details and pose. I would only remove the sheen on the bill and the biggest specular highlights in the wavelet.

Beautiful photo Daniel! I don't mind the specular highlights in this image save for the one at the far left. Terrific light you had there. Sharpness is excellent. Makes me want to get on a plane and fly to Florida this weekend.

Dan great image here. Did you did a hole for yourself to get this nice low angle? ;)

    Excellent Daniel,
I like this alot. The colors are rich, vibrant and the details on the bird are razor sharp. The background wraps it up very nicely...

Lovely warm light. Excellent details. Liked the low level perspective.
