    Default Rainbow Clouds at Sunset

Well, guys, I made some photos last week! I've just been doing lots of artsy digital collages the past couple of months, and printing some for an upcoming local art exhibit.

I bought some Lightroom presets and used one on this and then I used Aquarella (watercolor plugin) by jixipix on the image.

I have things to do right now so I'll be back later to look at your creations and comment.

Awesome colors in your rainbow-colored sky! The foreground of the black silhouetted trees gives this a good grounding for those colors fly up and dazzle you!

The colors in the sky are wonderful, especially in contrast to the dark trees. I took a look at this stretched horizontally and liked it better that way. Maybe because of the verticals???

You certainly produce some good effects using JixiPix.

Thanks Dennis! Do you mean you transformed it sideways? What did that do to the trees? The clouds were kinda vertical. Here is the original. Really BORING, huh? But I liked the shapes so thought it was worth a shot trying some plugins.

I opted for a golden rectangle, the length of which is about 1.6 times the height. (I have a helpful divine proportions app that eliminates the need for my doing the math.) It really doesn't matter if it's transformed horizontally or vertically as long as the final length:width ratio is the same. If it's done sideways, the stretching is only about 21% for your image, so the trees still look just fine. (At least I think so.)

Hi, Judy, I like your OP but I think I like Dennis' post a little better. (I don't really understand what he did but I like it) Gorgeous colors!

Sorry for taking so long to reply. I think your transformation looks good. Thanks for taking the time to do it. I wanted to see the original in Lightroom to see if I had cropped it and I did crop a very small amount off of the sides. The Olympus four-thirds sensor is 4:3 proportion so it is not as wide as other cameras that are 3:2. Sometimes this is a good thing, depending on the scene.

I do like the proportions of Dennis' posting. It creates a larger, even more dramatic sky.
