Default Fishing for breakfast - common loon and chicks

This trio was captured last week. The parent was busy looking for fish for the chicks. When they 'peer' like this, the eye is often underwater or so close to the water that it is hard to capture good eye contact. In this case, she was probably just starting the peering process, so the eye is nicely visible.

Post: level, cleaned up catchlights, usual levels adjustments.

    Advice and comments always appreciated.

Hi Randy, what a great looking pose and eye on the parent. The POV and detail are excellent. I wish for the chicks to be more in focus. The comp is nice, as is the BG and reflection.

    Thanks guys:

I appreciate the OOF chick comment. I felt that the center of attention was the moms red eye and pose, and that the chicks helped tell the story, even if OOF.

DOF a challenge at that focal length (900mm) even with 1.5x sensor.

    Again, appreciate your honest input.

Randy, love the comp and the details on Mom, but I too wish the chicks to be in more focus. Don't know Nikon, so I can't comment on how high ISO you can go. But if you can, I'd go for more DOF. TFS. Loi
