Here's another warbler that breeds in our area, captured in a local preserve.

    What a great species.
I like the "action" ie open bill extracting the bug.Tack sharp.
Love the thorns. Love the vlean view of legs and feet.
Yellows look great except a bit hot on the forehead.
Very difficult light to work with and I understand why you wanted to use fill flash but I think it cooked the yellow a bit.
I would be OK with a bit off the LHS (because I like square comps) but like this comp as well.

Another nice colourful bird Bill. I like the DOF and the colours on the bird look good against the BG. Agree with the yellows being a wee bit hot.

Great dining image, Bill. Love the open beak and all the fine details not only on the bird, but the wild rose perch too. Also think the forehead is a tad bright.

Great bird indeed. Yes, the yellows look hot to me, too. Good perch and BG, and I like the foraging behaviour you got here.

Thanks guys. We arrived at this preserve just after dawn, but by the time I got this shot it was three hours later and the sun was indeed rather harsh. The forehead was borderline cooked at 254. I thought I had addressed in post, but then made the mistake of using a little Tonal Contrast as a last step and didn't realize I had boosted the brightness again. Could have been easily corrected if I had been paying attention.

Hi Bill, I like the feeding behaviour with the open beak, and the yellows are really striking, even though a touch hot in some areas. I like how the perch falls diagonally through the frame.
