Great pose and BG. Do you know why the head plumage is so yellow? It could go a bit brighter for my taste.

Nope, the light was right on him but doesn't explain the yellow. I do have more of him and the head is still yellowish in the raw format as well.

Looks a little dark to me, and I wish the eye had a bit better definition. Fill flash could have helped here. Having said this, you got an excellent pose - the straight across wings combined with the straight down neck and face is very cool! Image looks plenty sharp too.

beautiful pose Gary.....white bal looks right on on my monitor.
A wee bit brighter would not hurt at all IMO.....but an awesome image, congrats :)

Gary, I reworked this image and I'm curious how you like it? I brightened up selected parts of the bird (wing, neck, head, and iris) and I applied a little sharpening to the eye.

i do like it better. It seems a lot of my photos show up a little darker here. I'll add a PS action key to increase the brightness a touch before posting.
Thanks Doug -thanks everyone for the comments.

It would be wiser to check the calibration of your monitor if you feel many of your photos turn up dark. Once calibrated you will find that most likely not that many images will have to be brightened...if exposed properly.
