I took this jay image at a set up in my friend's back garden, I have a similar set up in mine but no jays - yet!

Great timing with lunch being flipped like that. It's an awkward one to frame with such a strong horizontal aspect to the pose, is there any mileage in having some more of the perch in the shot? Also, I'm not over keen on the BG - what is the natural background to the location?

Wow Jon, a great image here, love the action and the sharpness. BG looks good and if it were mine id remove the sliver of green at the bottom of the perch. wonderful.

Jon change the meal worm for an acorn then you have a winner, agree about the difficult crop but ok with the bg,bird itself looks perfect to me good colour and feather detail.

Cool behavior/action captured. I love seeing the bird's tongue and the worm So clearly. Your Bg is lovely. I only wish the perch weren't so large.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, the natural background here Mike would have been too irregular, I am hoping my set up will do the trick. Acorns - yes Keith I agree but I haven't got any left , I think my friend still has a dozen or so left in the freezer. The tree stump in my garden is a little smaller - more trim so fingers crossed.
