    Default Peregrine high speed dive

This frame shows a juvenile Peregrine falcon in a high-speed dive. These raptors are the undisputed kings of the sky attacking birds much larger than themselves, even a pelican! They have amazing control at high speed, never get bored of watching or photographing them.

I made this shot with the 1D-X Mark II and 600 IS II hand held. ISO 800. F/4 at 1/3200sec. Processed with DPP 4.4

I had shot at the same location 2 years ago with the original 1DX and I can say that the 1DX MKII is a significant upgrade in AF when it comes to these challenging conditions. I was impressed by the results.

Impressive detail across the face, wings and back, the very tip of the beak looks just a tad soft on my screen. Where was the active focus point at the time of exposure? Overall a very pleasing image, TFS.

An amazing capture. Especially knowing how fast these guys are moving in a dive. Looks sharp to me. In addition to the spectacular bird, I love the background.

A top notch pose all round, from the screaming beak to the dorsal details, straight through to the fanned tail.

Thanks Gerhard but I have no idea what you are seeing, the beak looks razor sharp on my 4K screen.

Amazing skill and absolutely beautiful Arash. Every feather is defined and razor sharp! I like the diagonal BG soft color change that compliments the pose. Fanned tail and beak screaming open, couldn't be better!

Why did you edit the OP's text???:).
Fantastic IQ. Almost 3D look. Interesting pose and super nice BG too. Still, what blows my mind is the IQ...track sharp of this super fast raptor.

Wow, wow, wow! The best peregrine falcon frame I have laid my eyes on. Wickedly sharp to me. For you to shoot a f4, you nailed the focus point perfectly. The background is nice too with the ocean wave in the BG. The multi-colored BG is a plus. Well done Arah. Loi

It does look better on 4 k. Interesting difference between 4k and Eizo, thanks for clearing that up.

It was fun shooting, I had a good time. A bit more sun in the morning would have been great but then we would have missed those 11AM shots!

Sharp as can be and coming toward you with acceleration from the wings being slightly tucked in, not to mention the great BG. We had some great opportunities despite the crummy weather. Glad you came down and went away with some super keepers
