    Default ebb and flow

The three foreground shots were taken within two seconds of each other; the background shot was taken about 20 hours later in a nearby location.

    foreground -- Nikon D3s, ISO 320, f/22, 0.4 second, zoom lens at 120 mm
    background -- Nikon D3s, ISO 1000, f/11, 1/800 second, zoom lens at 105 mm

    processing highlights
    • The canvas was expanded to accommodate the foreground shots, the background shot (not proportionally changed in size) was added to the bottom of the stack, and the four layers were stamped to create a base layer. Nearly all the subsequent layers were masked to apply the effects to only the foreground or background or to achieve different results in each.
    • Topaz Simplify -- saved watercolor preset
    • Alien Skin Snap Art -- saved watercolor wash preset, Hard Light blend mode
    • Photo Filter adjustment layer -- Warming 85 to foreground
    • Photo Filter adjustment layer -- Underwater to background
    • Fractalius -- three saved black-on-white presets; Multiply, Divide, Multiply
    • Snap Art and Simplify -- saved black-on-white edges presets, Multiply
    • gradient vignette masked off foreground

Great idea for a sequence, Dennis - I like the way you stacked the images to emulate the flow of the water. Your processing itself is a work of art

Agree with Cheryl. I wouldn't have guessed the background was shot at such a different time. The frames around the smaller photos give it that "travel" look, which is good.

Very creative composition! Totally agree with Cheryl. Always look forward to your posts and the Dennis-processing technique!

Dennis, I would say this qualifies for the monthly theme. Do you want to have THEME added to your title?

I like the similarity to a triptych, the progression of the wave, and the usual amazing processing.

Very creative Dennis! Perfect way to display the three images, and of course lovely processing as usual!
