Small, but whole... A quick delivery to a nest of hungry teenagers. Canon 1DX Mk II, 400 DO II + 1.4X. ISO 800, f/7.1, 1/2000, hand held.

Cropped some from the left and top and added a little right and bottom. Net 70% of the full frame. Basic LR adjustments and into PS for the canvas work, replacing the eye from subsequent frame (nictitating membrane half closed) and a very slight Detail Extractor and NR.

Cool shot! A delicious Bass, and some salad to go along with it! I don't know if the young ones will be too excited about the greenery though haha! Nice action capture, and good idea about the replacing the eye, I never would have noticed, if you didn't mention it.

Looks good to me, Diane. Nice wing position, whole fish a bonus (appears like a catfish), the trailing vegetation add interest. Thank you for sharing.

Great capture Diane! At first glance it looked to me like the osprey had captured a small mermaid :)

Well captured Diane, very nicely shown. I think the greenery adds to the image, and well done on the eye.

I like the bird flying with the fish and the nesting material. Wing position is nice as well. The head angle is not ideal as the bird is looking away. Seems like this pic was taken in strong light which is not ideal for dark and light birds. The top of the head seems a bit hot and the underwings have a bit too much shadow for my liking.

Hi Diane, I do like the weed that comes with the fish. Nice wing position and good exposure. Wish the shooting angle is more eye level and more details on the fish. Loi

Ah, this is the osprey you've been talking about. Very nice frame, Diane! I love the green, too. It adds so much to the image. I wouldn't have noticed the eye at all.

Thanks everyone. Yes, there are a lot of things to wish for with these birds. Fish deliveries only occur 3-4 times a day, popping up from behind trees with no warning, and the wind and light are rarely ideal. Frustratingly there is no way to get on the sunrise side of the nest, only south and west, and sunset winds have been from the SE. Maybe better winds in the next few days.
