    Default Bobolink Full Dorsal View.

With these guys' very neat backside plumage I've wanted to get this particular pose for a bit now, and this fella came through for me. I came close a few times before, but the head angle was never as perfect as the one here. This is the only North American species that is white on the back and black in front - pretty snazzy!

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/640s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, FF, used audio to coax it closer and photograph from my car. Burn tool used to extract more details form the back and head. Darkened the pupil.

Congratulations getting this dorsal view in breeding plumage. I've never gotten a decent shot of one in breeding plumage, dorsal or otherwise. Nice head turn, and I like the spiky tail. They do like fences, don't they.

Yes I agree with Bill love the plumage detail generally but especially the tail
I,ve done quite a few framed in fences and I love it! On top of that you have some amazingly photogenic birds over there.

One of my favorite birds and he posed nicely with the rule of thirds grid for you! Nice exposure and capture!

I really like this one Daniel. The pose is perfect showing lots of nice feather details and I too really like the tail feathers on this species.
    Well done

A delightfully sharp and detailed view of this bird. The fence is a pleasingly different and graphic perch.

With no subtle detail in the BG I would consider taking a little off the top.

Nice job Dan, I really enjoy this image as it is sharp and well exposed. Love the setting bc these guys are grassland birds and well, there's the green BG! wonderful HA and feather detail and processing. Well done!

Fantastic pose. lovely colour and detail on the bird. I don't mind the perch, but I think the colour of the BG, somehow don't blend well with the fence.

Very nice detail. Smart looking bird. I don't mind the fence, I think it works well in this image.
