    Default Straight down the lens

Still WIP with trying capture the little owl coming straight at me .
I did go out my comfort zone with this shot as i pushed the iso to 3200 to give me a decent shutter speed ,and to be honest i am reasonabaly pleased .
Normaly when the light is not giving me a shutter speed of 1/1600 sec min with a iso of 800 i dont normaly try for the shot, however with a bit of advice from Jonathan Ashton i pushed the iso up to give me the shutter speed i was happy working with .
    Canon 1d mkiv 500mm f4 at f4 1/1600 sec iso 3200 Name: Little-owl-3rd-June-2016-(1-of-1)-2.jpg

No question about it; certainly worthy of the personal achievement files. Good move to go outside of your comfort zone. A terrific head-on view, maintaining sharp focus and good exposure. Well done.

Comp, incoming pose, little feet showing, background all look good. I do feel there is a green/cyan cast to your image as posted. Should be an easy fix by adding a bit of reds to the color balance.

That's a cracker Dennis really sharp and a super background to boot. I would also be very pleased with an image like this.

Hi Dennis, looks pretty good to me. On my lap top, but don't see noise as a problem. Shutter speed is what you need to capture an incoming fast owl. You nailed the focus on the face, pretty sharp to me. Daniel already mentioned the green cast. A small nit is the nictitating membrane on the eye. Loi
