    Default A Very Tolerant Perch

    Hello Everyone!

Went back to my Avian files and found something quite entertaining, here's a number of Redbilled Oxpeckers riding on the back of a Buffalo:)

Image taken in our local Game Reserve in May last year, already winter, light fading, techs a bit extreme and SS not ideal for those moving, gregarious chaps ...I might have gotten away with it though, WDYT?

    Nikon D4
    Nikon 500 F4
    ISO 6400
    F8
    1/800s

Processed in LR and PSCC, cropped about 20% from the original, curves, levels, exposure, D/B, sharpened for web.

Thank you so much for having me here in Avian, also for your kind comments on my previous post, much appreciated!

Could you call this a gaggle of Oxpeckers? Wonderful image, it brought a smile to my face. The only small change I might make is to remove the out of focus insects. I go both ways with it. Thank you for sharing, Gabriela.

Joe, I actually wanted to call it a "gaggle of oxpeckers", LOL!

Thank you so much for viewing and your kind thoughts. You are right, removing the little flies would result in a much cleaner image with more emphasis on the subjects. I decided to leave the insects in because I wanted to show you what the scene looked like it real life. I must have taken at least 100 frames here, trying to get a good HA on all birds, pretty hard work:) Image captured 1 year ago but only decided to share now, at first I did not think it was worth processing. So glad you're smiling, I hope the other members do too, looking forward to see what they say...

    Have a wonderful evening,

I like this one Gabriela, interesting capture of behavior i usually see from a lone oxpecker. The eyes really draw me to each bird and you sure did get good HA's. I like the bugs, bc thats what oxppeckers are there for, besides the ride! I enjoyed this.

What an intriguing shot Gabriella. Love the way they are all facing the same way. Almost like impending doom is arriving from the left !
    Very nice and different.

Nice frame Gabriela. I like the fact that they're all facing the same way and the colors and details look great.
Nice perch too. A very fun and interesting frame. TFS
