    nice handsome bird and great light on him too, the BG was too buys and distracting here and the OOF tail also distracts from the image, tough condition to work with but the details are nice and sharp

    I agree about the BG, especially the brighter part of the bush....but I love the tail. Good perch, details (although almost oversharpened, if not a bit). Vertical comp works well. This is not a species we often see posted images of!

    thank you both it was shot in bushland with light just getting thru in the shot area over sharpening was caused because getting used to 1dx i used to a 1d iv with my sharpening action

    Derek it's nice what you got but it would be great to get one out in the open showing that tail and not the distraction of the bg ,but hey! it would be lovely to get every thing just the way we would like it.Thanks for showing us this.

    Good shot under harsh conditions. Main part of the bird grat. I like this sort of BG anyway ! Second post much better in my opinion.
