As I am new to this forum, my initial posts will be to show some of my favorite images and the types of bird photos I like to take.
I have been seriously taking bird/wildlife pictures since early 2008 and it is by far my favorite type of photography.

    Thanks for looking.

Impressive image of this catch! Love all the water spray and you got a great head angle on the bird and I like the position of the fish b/c it shows how large it is and that it's struggling.

    Great action stuff here Tim
Love the turbulent water behind the bird too- shows something was going on.

Thumbnail wasn't showing how good this image is. I am glad I clicked on it. Super nice catch, huge fish, low angle shooting and nice head turn it gave you and good splash that adds to the action. I;d like it more with some space on the left. Nice work.

    Tim:

Great action, nice fish (trout?), good perspective (shooting angle).

The birds head is a little soft, possibly from motion despite shutter speed, although the fish seems a bit sharper. The water below is quite sharp. Fairly shallow dof of field to work with at that length and f/stop.

    Look forward to more.

    A big welcome to BPN,

Very Nice action shot! That fish is huge! was it able to gulp it down, or did the fish escape?

Hi Michael, the trout didn't have a chance it was gone in a flash.

Great action shot. The eye of the fish is the focal point and it is sharp. I agree with Randy that the bird's head is a bit soft. I think this is a DOF at f4.5. Well done. Loi
