    Taken from my garden hide this afternoon
    Bit more of a set up lookfrom me .Not sure about the BG either- afternoon sun on distant Oak trees.
    D7100
    Sigma 50-500mm
    70 % of frame.
    800 ISO
    250th sec @f11
    Neat image,

    John, beautiful photo nice and sharp, great BG. My only nit is the cut branch perch.

    In actual fact I didn't cut it ! - I did take it off a branch though. I'll see if I can "tart" it up.

    Truly lovely image, composition and set up here, John! Love the bird and flowers against that green BG. The prey is a big plus.

    Lovely image! Nice and sharp. I like the composition and background

    Perch is good. The cut perch didnt bother me until i read the comment and then it was an issue.

    A landscape crop would have also worked well i believe

    Strong image John, I like the set up, the bird looks great against smooth background, but the Hawthorn blossom makes it for me.
    Looks like the young are getting well fed too.

    Nice fix of the perch. Wish you had full flowers on the left.
    Nice set-up, maybe a tad more contrast?
