Another from Magee Marsh. The Tennessee Warbler's food of choice during his summer home in the boreal forests is the spruce budworm. But (according to Cornell) in his winter home in South America, and evidently while on migration northward, he is also fond of nectar which he taps from the base of a flower's pistil.
Like this feeding image a lot, Bill. Exceptional clarity on this sleek beauty under soft light. Interesting to learn about his foods of choice. Looking forward to more warblers from Magee Marsh.
Good image and natural history lesson. He is a skinny fellow. Agree about the perch being a bit distracting, but I didn't notice it until I started to exam the image. The initial impression was of the feeding activity.
It low luminosity (perch) does help to reduce its impact.
Do like the way the bird is feeding on that blossom, bird looks really good did wonder about a catch lite but with the birds head being in the angle it is would be difficult.Keep showing us these warblers Bill.
