I just discovered this location, and really have not photographed Snail Kites before. I sure enjoyed this day out, and hope to get back soon.

I like the spread winged landing pose here. underwings are nicely lit and the perch and background provide a good sense of the birds habitat

Is it carrying something in its talons?

Thanks Shane, That's an Apple snail he is carrying, The main food source of this bird.

Terrific landing shot with full wings-out pose. Nicely captured against a beautiful background. To my eye the bird could use a touch of sharpening.

I'm with Bill on the sharpening. Not sure how much of a crop, my impression is it is just a touch soft. The perch is a bit dominant, but the landing pose is great. Loi

Perfect timing, killer wing positions, and a snail to boot. A touch of NIK 50-50 and a bit of selective sharpening of the face with a Contrast Mask would really make this one sing, maybe with a small crop from the bottom. a

Nice capture of a bird I would love to shoot. The pose, colors and comp look great but I do agree with a bit more sharpening. Well done Robert

Thanks for the comments, I think I will rework it, or another in the series and give Artie's Nic 50-50 a go.
