Taken in Texas at the border. This male road runner kept calling and hoping to present this draped lizard to a mate...

Simply a great looking bird with the added bonus of the present. Nice light and love the raised feet. Not only is he a character in the cartoon, but I was lucky enough to meet two of them in Desert Hot Springs, Ca. many years ago, who were wild yet very comfortable around people and would put a smile on my face.

    Hi Ann,
A very nice behavioral shot you have captured here. Really like seeing the eye of the prey and the bird as well. The bird looks nice and sharp and well exposed. Wishing for a little less distracting BG but a very fine image still.

Always nice to get a bird with prey, and this one is very nice. I don't mind the BG because this is a "wild" shot.
    Nice expose sure and sharp.

I like the pano comp, and the running pose. Prey item indeed a great bonus to have, especially that it's face is visible. The paler trees at right are a bit unfortunate, and I would tone down the very brightest highlights (prey's throat and RR's front thigh). A fun image!
