Earlier this year, an Irish photographer sold to a collector a photo of a potato for a million Euros (just over a million US dollars). Inspired by that, the leader of our local photo group challenged us to do a million-dollar potato image. That's the reason this exists. So far, no collector has apparently found it all that appealing (a peeling ).

- The background is a combination of two Belle Fleur textures (one primarily because the color was right), two tiff textures converted from the no-longer-usable OnOne PhotoFrame program, and Bevel & Emboss layer effects along with some blending and filling.
- The foreground was my usual combination of Topaz Simplify, Alien Skin Snap Art, and Fractalius. Because the potato was illuminated from below, the skin at the bottom right was blown out and needed to be fixed with a selection from another area. On the other end of the spectrum, the top was very dark, so it was replaced with a selection from the front of the potato.
- The text balloons were done with the Elliptical Marquee and Polygonal Lasso tools.
