    Default Anhinga (m)

I went to Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida yesterday morning, not a whole lot of birds but enough to make it worthwhile. I captured this image of a male Anhinga transitioning out of breeding plumage and colors. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Another nice portrait, Joe; like the head details, eye contact and it stands out nicely from the BG. I wonder if there is any way to get more detail out of the very black part of the plumage. TFS.

Nice portrait is right. I like the profile and the light blue water. I agree with Lorant about more details in the darkest areas. This is one that might have been shot at a bit higher exposure to capture more details in the blacks, then tame it down in PP if need be. Well done

Gorgeous portrait! Great head angle and the scruffy tan feathers on the head complement (and even point to!) the lighter feathers on the body. I love the crop.

I don't find the darks to be a major problem, but wonder if more detail could be found there with the Shadows slider? If it makes the rest on the image too light, layer it in and mask to the dark area. And/or try Detail Extractor.

Concur with the above comments. I like close ups and love the dark and light aspect of this one and the detail where it shows.
