My past experience with these guys has been to see them at the very tops of tall evergreens. It was a treat to see a few of these beauties almost at eye level. Warbler #3 from Magee.

WoW great exposure and detail with a killer pose. I think it would be even stronger with the brown seedpod over his head gone. Maybe take a little lower crop if you have more room taking out the seedpod and the thicker upper branch?

What a beautiful bird, and love the grooming pose, Bill. Couldn't ask for better light, and great detail. I agree with Joe re the seedpod. Somewhat distracting.

Gorgeous bird, great light, sharp with great tonalities! Good points above re the crop.

Thank you Joe, Geoffrey and Dianne. I've taken your suggestions to heart, and reposted without the seed pod, and a bit of crop from above. Thanks for the comments; hope you like it.

Nice work on the repost, Bill. I really like the BG, so I tried a variation keeping more of the branches in. Name: Blackburnian-Warbler-preening-R1c2v---Magee-Marsh_051216-mini1000 copy.jpg
