Wow Richard! The details in the feathers look great. Good eye contact. Exposure looks very good. The cheek looks bright, but I can't say that it is overexposed. Do these swallows come to this place often? If so, you maybe able to set up a nice looking perch for them. Unfortunately, the timber perch does not show off the bird to his best. You have lost his feet and tail. I would remove the silver bracket and the OOF white spots on the post.

Well done! Hope to see more!

Thank you for the great suggestions. And yes the silver bracket and oof white spots being removed helped alot. I will have to keep in mind to get the feet next time.

Wow! Wonderful sharpness and tonalities! Nice head angle and catching the wings like that is amazing! The perch isn't good but hopefully you can get one on a branch. Not sure I've ever seen a swallow sitting on anything.

Hope you can catch some more!

Richard: Sorry I'm a little late on this one. Boy, you had a very short DOF!! Look at the edge of the wooden perch -- how it goes from OOF to IF at the very back!! Even the back wing-tip of the bird is slightly OOF vs the front of the bird. But wow, lovely shot of a beautiful bird that I bet is hard to catch!!

Hoping you have more or can capture more of this guy that you can share.
