Rainbow and Aechmea
I've had this one for a about a week and I keep coming back to it, so I thought I would do something with it. I liked the darkness and brightness. The pose isn't ideal and I don't like not seeing his tail. His eye has this weird hypnotic, crazy look about it.
In ACR - Shadows to the right.
In PSC6 - An exercise in cloning! Curves adjustment layer. NR on BG. Almost FF. Cropped a little off the bottom. Smart sharpened for posting.

Glennie: Of course you've done an excellent job once again with these guys. You will soon be departing this lovely land of ETL because of all of your skills both capturing the picture and post-processing it. Or else stay here and help Diane with all us rookies that still have so much to learn! :)
What I want to see next is some BIF/landings pics. These guys are so beautiful that a full frame of outstretched wings would be gorgeous. Guess you would have to go HH, up shutter speed, etc. But you've got these guys right there -- would love you to get some flying shots ....

Wonderful critter -- the look in the eye is fitting to your description of their antics, and their outrageous attire!
Excellent work on the BG and surgery on the perch!! Somewhat less than ideal is the shadow falling across the body. It might be dealt with by a masked Curves. If I can think of any other critique I'll get back to you at 3 am, but don't stay up...
"Or else stay here and help Diane with all us rookies that still have so much to learn! :)" YOU ARE ALL DEPUTIZED!

Glennie, all of the above. But I respectfully disagree with you about the tail. To me, the perch replaces the tail and it is a really interesting juxtaposition. Very nice work, maybe you can get another one posing like this with a better light! :D

Thank you all for the most flattering of words. I appreciate it....and my head is now way too big. And now it looks like the challenge has been set! BIF's!
Adhika, how did you get to be an engineer?
