Hi Andre - A simple, yet effective portrait and comp. Nice details and warm light. The color just looks a little strange to me. If it were mine I would reduce the yellows on the hyena but you were there. Btw I have been wondering the same thing and thought he might be away?
Hi Andre, I quite like the framing and the BKG is enough to provide good separation, but the IQ I feel isn't quite there based on the techs. It looks quite contrasty, creating in parts a slight crunchy look to the appearance, The nose is sharp, but the rest just diets a bit and I know you can deliver more. You were there but perhaps a bit more warmer it it's look and less Contrast/Blacks may help, just a thought.
Nice portrait in good light here. I felt the OP had a green tinge and Steve's sorted that out.
Good handling of shadow detail too, Andre. I might shave some off the RHS for a square presentation?
Hi Andre -- Nicely framed , and that BG helps it to separate nicely as well . Before reading the comments I also thought that it is quite contrasty and crunchy , you could fix it easily i guess . Cant comment on the colours though as i am away .
Thanks for comments and suggestions!
I began again from the LR import into PS.
Was careful not to do any contrast enhancing actions, the Hyena has got rough hair, it get coarser as they get older.
I reduced the sat on yellows, the only green in image is a thin strip behind subject.
Levels,Curves, Saturation, D&B layer
Selectively sharpened for web, nose at lower %.
Tried Morkel's crop suggestion.
WDYT?
Andre, I do think it's an improvement and also perhaps having more DoF, say f/9 just to have a bit more detail in the face, I doubt the BKG would have then suffered.
Hi Andre, love the intense stare, and I like how you have cropped from the bottom. Good DOF on the head, as well as detail, and IN like what Steve did to sort out the cast. I prefer your comp in the OP.
Thank you Steve, hope you enjoying a nice Red by now in Bots.
Thank you Stu for commenting- The OP had no more space at bottom, just cropped on top and RHS for comp.
Hope this helps...
Hi Andre, bit late on this with most of the tec bits well covered.Think there is enough on the head to hold the viewers attention, fine detail on the nose and really nice soft brown eyes, not forgetting those perked up ears.
