    Default Yellow-billed Cuckoo

The Yellow-billed Cuckoo is somewhat of a recluse, so I was excited to see one land on a perch during Alan Murphy's (and Brian Small's) recent Galveston workshop. I had a 5DSR on loan from Canon so I got lots of pixels on the Cuckoo; the cropped dimensions of this image are 4451x6677 (about 30 megapixels)!

    Canon 5DSR, 600 mm, f/8, 1/1250, ISO 800, manual exposure, tripod, blind

Hi Doug, I like the inquisitive pose and HA, and lots of character on the perch with the yellow lichen. Nice smooth BG too.

I had a chance to shoot with the 5Ds a little while back. As you say, plenty pixels to work with.

Great pose, and I love the lichen matching the color of the bill and eye ring. Well done.
