    Default Ford every stream

I spent last weekend at the beach. It's May gray here in Southern California so the light was not fantastic, but hey it's not harsh. I played with a few Western gulls that I will share later this week and also a few black bellied plovers at the beach. This is one frame that I like. The title was inspired by the song in The Sound Of Music.

I shot at ISO1600, 1/2000, f/8 @ 600mm so I ETTR'd all the shots. LR only: Exposure -0.20 and then bring down the highlights, up on the shadows and then up on the white and black to bring some contrast. Also shifted the left end of the histogram using the curve. Because of the flat light, I need to push up the saturation a little bit as well and brought down the blue and aqua saturation sliders.

Very nice Adhika! The image suits the title. Is this the tide running? I love the way the sand is showing through the water. Bird is gorgeous! Techs look good to me. My only suggestion would be to take a little slice off the top.

Glennie & Warren, thanks! You are right, Glennie, I could definitely take some of the top off. This was not an actual stream. This was a retreating wave at the beach. I got wet shooting this one, but it was worth it, I suppose. :D

Lovely! Great IQ and the brown colors in the water are perfect for the subject!

I'd crop the top halfway to the head. Well, maybe 0.4....
