    Default Rose-breasted Grosbeak

    Took this picture the same day as I captured the images of the Little Blue Heron. Walked a short distance, same preserve, down a path to a spot where I've seen these and Scarlet Tanagers return for the past several years. C&C welcome.

    D4S, Nikon 500mm + 1.4 TC, 1/1250s, f 6.3, ff, ISO 2500, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley Gimbal head.

    Removed som distracting branches in cs6.

    handsome colorful specie, the bird looks a bit noisy and I wish you had a better BG and a less steep angle to work with

    Geoffrey it;s a fine looking colourful bird and I like it's pose and perch,do agree about that rather stark BG.

    the dark areas still show noise, is your monitor calibrated recently?
