Great idea! I think the lines from the zoom blur have a lot to do with how well this works inverted.
I think I like this one even better Gary. To me the processing increases the mystical, magical quality of this impressive tree. I love the horizontal lines at the bottom, grounding the image, and the centered position of the tree. Very forceful image conveying the power of this leviathan.

This is just bursting forth with energy! It has a 3-D quality that appears to move and quiver if I look at it too long! Your perspective of this magnificent tree is just right, encompassing the branches and a layer of foreground and nothing more. The major branches have a wonderful balance on each side of the trunk , making a great natural composition that you highlight here so creatively.
