Great light! I love the tongue, and the water running past the leg. Raised foot is a neat touch. Had the tail part of the Willet swung over this way it would have also been nicely splashed with that golden light. Good low angle. I agree with more room for the comp.

Love the light! The open beak and view of the tongue add a nice focal point of interest.
I wish the body had been a bit more parallel to the sensor to get the rear end of the bird into that lovely light.

PS Just read Daniel's comment and I basically repeated what he said. Sorry about that but it just means great minds think alike!

I'm another who loves this golden light, and you've had great timing with the tongue. It is a little large in frame, but for whatever reason it works for me on this occasion.

I think this looks great! The first light is awesome and I like the tighter comp as it accentuates the calling pose and the sharp head. Lots of nice details too. Well done

Magnificent image. Nice lights, beautiful colors and composition.
Love the pose with open beak and raised foot. Agree about space in front.

    Satish.

Hi Allen, sweet light, lovely all round colours, and I like your low shooting angle. Well timed to capture the open bill, and the visible tongue, and I do like the bubbles in the water.

Great light. Love seeing that little bit of tongue, raised foot and a nice catch light.
