Hi All, I have just returned from a week long trip to an island on the west coast of Scotland called Islay. (famous for its single malts) and of course wildlife . It was a great trip with plenty of opportunities to photograph the wildlife. I captured this Lapwing,up on the hills, just as the sun was setting.

Hi Will, great low angle, and well timed to capture the calling pose with the visible tongue. Whites look good, nice light on the near wing showing up the iridescence, and just love that BG. Maybe a bit more space below would work.

    Hi William,
Love the calling behavior and the colors on the primaries. Nice light and exposure. I'm okay with the cropping you chose as the oof foreground does not become too prominent.

Hi Will, nicely timed with the open beck, but agree with Stu that it needs a tad more at the foot. Exposure looks well handled in the bright light, but would have preferred the stone on the left & right not to have be there.

Good Pee wit shot Will. I would darken the sheen on the wing feathers a tad. The stone is fine by me. Any more room all around ?

Good calling pose and the colours are showing well on the wing. Nice low angle which gave you a terrific background. A bit less head turn to clear the tip of the lower mandible from the neck would have been cool. I also think the image could be a touch less bright since you say it is at sunset. Looking forward to more from your trip!

Calling pose is great and raised foot adds a lot.
I would clone out the rock on the left.
The light seems very bright for sunset. I wonder if the color balance is correct. Should it be a bit warmer?
    Nice iridescence on the wing.
Great bird and lovely image. Would love to see this bird in real life.

Great low perspective here Will, you must have spent a fair bit of time lying in wait. Nice calling pose and the tongue is a nice touch.

The first thing I thought is that it looked a bit bright so the repost looks much better. Cool looking bird and I like the crest and the calling pose. Nice sheen caught on the feathers too. Well done
