Pied Flycatcher above pool.I still reckon some of the duller females of many species are in some way more appealling. Don't know why.
Not many of these around again this year.

Very attractive fly catcher. Perfect focus on the eye and bill, excellent HA. Great pose as you can see the entire bird including both feet. The colors really impress me, they are so muted and rich, they blend so nicely with the flycatcher. I know you often prefer a more environmental background, but I think you've made an excellent exception here. Might have wished for a thinner perch, but I'd certainly take this one any time.

What a cutie John. Love the pose and agree with all John said. It almost has a 3D look about it.

    Well done

Beautiful little bird that looks like she should be on a post card. BG and perch work well for me. The little ruffled feather on her back is a nice touch.

Love the slight head tilt, John. Wonderful look at this bird. Like the BG too.

    Hi John,
A very cute pose you have captured with the bird giving us quite a close look. Great eye. I like the environmental look - interesting but not too terribly overpowering. Something a little different anyway.

Good job with this one. If your ethics allow, I would lose the small twig under the perch. Perch size doesn't bother me. If you added the catch light you did a great job.
