Royal Tern

This Royal Tern was captured at Ft. De Soto a few weeks ago. Cropped out about 15% from top and left side to remove a thin slice of sky at the top. This left the frame too tight, so I extended the canvas on the top.
D4 and 80-400mm f4.5-5.6@400mm, HH, manual exposure 1/1250 sec., f8, iso 640.
All C&C welcomed and thanks for looking.

This is very nice John.
Your PP is excellent and I would never have known had you not disclosed your work.
The whites look perfect and you have a perfect HA. Love how the bird ids looking at you.
Splayed tail, slightly open bill and excellent IQ, DOF and sharpness make this a really nice image.
Some will not like the position of the far wing but I am OK with it.

Hi John, I really like this flying pose, as it has a nice flow of the wings. Well exposed, especially the eye showing up in the black cap, and I like how the Tern pops against the blue of the BG water.

Hi John,
This is an elegant shot with the pleasing BG giving a great backdrop to make the bird pop, Nice exposure on the bird and good look at the eye. I like the wing position and how the bird seems to be angled slightly toward us.
I was In Florida two weeks ago hoping for some tern shots but they kept their distance from me :-( .............. Very Nice capture here.

I love shooting Terns and I must say that this shot looks awesome!! The HA couldn't be better and your exposure looks spot on. The water color highlights the bird well and the details are all there. Yes, a better wing position would have been better but still a solid keeper in my book. Well done
