Default Another frame with the 1DX II

I have been trying the 1DX MK II for the past two days. The high ISO performance is great, it is very similar to the 1DX (both cameras performing really close to the shot-noise limit). Canon seem to have improved the lower ISO DR quite a bit though. I don't use low ISO's or shoot contrasty scenese with these cameras, but for those who do this could be good news. the head shot below was taken at ISO 6400 in very low light (it was rainy!). Processing was done with DPP4.4 and PS CC + neat image (as described in the post processing guide)

The images below are the 100% crop from RAW. I haven't applied any noise reduction or sharpening besides the DPP conversion parameters. You can see that the details are really sharp despite some visible noise. The noise is very fine so it is easy to remove it without affecting the detaills

Hi Arash, just for fun, make a virtual copy and in PS (as you haven't got LR ) see what happens when you move the shadow slider 100+, not an advisable route, but on those 1DX MKII files see what happens with regard to the detail.

    High Steve.

I have seen the low ISO DR has really improved, but I don't shoot at those low ISO's much. the high ISO is limited by photon shot noise, and it's the same.
