Great Blue Heron making a flyby over a resting group of Marbled Godwits and Willets. Some were looking up, but it didn't seem to bother them much.
I cloned out 2 oof fence posts in the background and increased contrast a bit. This was shot about 10:30 in the morning with harsh light so I lightened the underside of the wing to reduce a very harsh shadow and then applied Nik detail extractor, Neat Image NR and smart sharpening to the bird.
Taken at North Beach lagoon, Ft De Soto with Nikon D4 and 600mm + 1.4 TC on tripod. 1/1600 sec @ f7.1, iso 800

    Hi John,
Your post processing work seems to have worked well to me. Nice detail in the shadows of the wing. This is a mighty cool shot with the heron flying over the shorebirds. A neat image.

Very nice image indeed, I like the pose and the waders beneath. My only slight reservation is the white band in the background.
