    Default Yellow-throated Warbler

This week should have been the beginning of warbler season around here, but the weather has been so rotten that the birds and I have tended to stay put. There have been promising reports from a few souls that have ventured out in the rain and gloom, so I think things will look up next week. In the meantime, to get in the mood, I've gone back to a frame from February, of this beautiful little warbler that forgot to migrate south with the rest of his clan, and managed to over-winter at the Trenton Sewer Plant. I know the perch is too large for a little bird, but it was his choice, not mine; and anyway I thought it had some interest.

Sure does have a ton of interest Bill. What a super bird with great colours. I don't mind the perch at all, as you say its a little oversized for the bird but the patterns and flaky texture are really cool imo.

Hi Bill, lovely angled pose, good feather detail, and I like the splash of yellow in contrast to the surrounding greys. Im fine with the perch, as I always have large perches.

I remember you talking of this little warbler that forgot to migrate. I'm happy to see he's still around. Everything in this image just sings. The bird as well as the perch...and the BG colours are the perfect backdrop.

Lovely image, Bill. Beautiful color and detail on the bird. The perch is fine with me, we capture the image as we find it when not a setup. Thank you for sharing.
