    Default Paper wasp on nest

This solitary wasp was busy constructing the nest and was quite impervious to me getting close

Usually they do defend their nest when in larger numbers but this was chose to ignore me

Cropped for composition, burned some highlights on rocks and nest. USM on subject

This is excellent by all account, Shane. I am not on a calibrated monitor so I can't comment on color but the composition is really pleasing. I do not want to be with this creature in one room, let alone take picture of them. So, this is a really cool perspective to me.

    Hi Shane,
Critical focus is spot on the subject's head with the nest providing a good deal of additional interest. Wasp well placed in frame. A fine image.

Like the frame/composition and details. Well balanced light. Well done.

Nice shot DOF limited but good rendition of the subject. Did you take any a little further back with all the nest structure in the frame?
