Default First 1Dx Mark II Shot!!! A Curve-billed Thrasher

I'm really excited to have received my 1Dx Mark II yesterday morning. Here's a frame that I shot yesterday afternoon. I have done zero processing to this frame (neither LR nor PS work) of any kind. I'll also include a 100% crop for you pixel peepers.

    Canon 1Dx II, 600 mm + 1.4x, f/9, 1/1000, ISO 400, manual exposure, hand held

Not a particularly noteworthy frame, but the camera itself is simply outstanding from what I can tell in my early tests.

Good to hear all expectations are being met Doug, things can only go from strength to strength. I assume, LR, DPP & PS currently support the files?

Seems Donna, Blitzen etc have taken a break with my delivery!!!

Like the frame, details and pose. Thanks for sharing unprocessed photo. Looks very good. Good luck with your 1DXII. Would like to hear silent shutter in action, any comment is welcome.

    Cheers,

sweet! hopefully I'll get to shoot some flight with mine this weekend.

we should also note that although not cheap, but the 1DX2 is noticeably cheaper than the 1DX. 1DX was $6800 when it first came out 4 years ago. The 1DX II is $6000 in the US with a CF FAST 2.0 card and reader (about $350 street price) that is 17% cheaper even though Japanese yen is more expensive than it was in 2012. Great job Canon
