I came across this Semipalmated Plover at Ft. De Soto and watched him for 20 minutes or so as he was pulling up a breakfast full of worms.

    D4 with 600mm + 1.4 TC on lowered tripod, ISO 800, Ap:7.1, Spd:1/2500.

    C & C welcomed and appreciated.

Thats a great action shot John !
I have visions of it twanging up and smacking the brd in the face. Pity about the part hidden feet but can't win 'em all ! Maybe a tiny bit bright overall but could be my gear.
    Nice work whatever

Nice and perfectly perpendicular to the ground strand of worm! I especially like how it is at the very tip of the bill. I do find the oof FG band a touch thick - perhaps crop a bit of it out. I'd also darken the whitish spot in the middle of the pupil.

Like the moment, pose & POV. Despite harsh light I like well balanced BG tone. Well done.

I just love shots like this and I wish to photograph that one day too. TFS.
