This Sanderling was photographed at Breezy Point in Queens, New York. Taken while I was lying on the ground with camera and lens on tripod fully extended. Bird is just starting to get some of its breeding colors. Can't wait to photograph them in all their breeding glory (assuming they stay here then).
Canon 7d2 and Canon 500 f4 ii and 1.4x iii. F8, ISO 400, SS 1/1600, Evaluative Metering. Used 15 point expansion while bird was running very close to me. Got top left and one to right and one below on the bird just at the shoulder.
Converted in DPP 4 and basic adjustments in PS. Cleaned up a few objects on beach. Smart sharpened.
Beautiful, simple image Isaac, I really like the low angle, the eye contact and the detail you have captured. Also look forward to seeing the breeding plumage. TFS
