I really like this picture of this scoter with the crab in its bill. In New York we very rarely get White-wings close to shore. And if we ever do they are typically only seen at Montauk where you need to be perched up on a jetty to get a shot. I like the shooting angle and the prey. Also the ripples and the droplets like the bird just emerged from a dive with the crab. If being really picky I wish the shadow on the nape and chest were not there. Also not sure if it is my monitor but I am not seeing any details in the white under and behind the eye.
That's awesome to get it close like that, and the prey item is so cool! I'm thinking that darkening the lighter midtones would work, and also some CCW rotation would help with tilted image. Low angle is good, and I like the faint view of the foot underwater.
