Default Black Skimmer @ Ft. Desoto

I was just about done with photography that morning North Beach. I was slowly picking some shells to bring back home to my kids when I spotted this Black Skimmer flying far away along the shore but heading towards me. Picked up the gear in the hopes it would continue past me...well it did, and it started skimming right in front of me!! Chimped the result on the LCD, cracked a huge grin, and then resumed picking shells. Florida...paradise...

Fantastic captures, a bonus, you could say :)

The light was not shabby either....

    Hi Daniel,

Lovely capture and excellent light. The wings have a glow at the very tip. Did you select the BG for noise reduction?

Great capture of this guy skimming. Excellent exposure and one of the best eyes I have seen on a skimmer. Really a wonderful image Daniel.

Great exposure control, details and eye contact. There is a slight S/H halo around the bird's right wing and a sharpening halo around the head and bill.

An excellent job Daniel. It goes without saying that I love the bird, but I think the wave behind the bird adds to the photo.

Very nice Daniel. Super light, detail, pose, and color. Agree with Doug about the BG wave.

I like the BG with two tones of blue and the aaction here. The open bill and raised wings are a great bonus. Very well done Daniel
