    Default Grebe Rushing

This pair of Western Grebes came towards us at the correct angle and close enough that I thought a vert. comp. might work as opposed to the usual landscape crop which shows a little more water action from behind the bird. Thanks for looking and your critics. D4 600mm with 1.4tc, F7.1, ISO 800 at 1/1600 sec. hand held

What a spectacular image, Grenn. I'm liking the vertical presentation b/c it's a bit more unique and will better showcase this mating behavior. I would crop a tad more off of the bottom if it were mine. The splash is great. You have some feet showing and those eyes are piercing.Your BG rocks too. You have it all here.

Man what a great looking frame Glenn and I love the BG color on this one. Nice poses on both of them and I'm glad we can see some of the feet. I kinda like the vertical comp. Well done

Flipping cracker image Glenn. Dramatic action captured brilliantly and I really like the complimentary poses! Nothing more to say really :)

You have captured their behaviour wonderfully

Tack sharp, good exposure and great BG. Those red eyes really draw in the viewer

    Super special image, Glenn!
This is so refreshing, well seen and captured and nice work there in the field, techs look good

Love the "dance" from these two grebes... I cannot help but think of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake

    Kind regards,

Excellent! I love the vertical comp - good call on that. What a rush that must have been. Just the right amount of splash and spray. Everything looks great, but I'm just wondering if the image is a tad on the "cyan" side. I think adding a point or two of reds would work well. Really nicely done overall!!
