    Default Feeling The Heat !

    Hello everyone !

I came back from a very good trip to Bandhavgarh and so decided to contribute to this months theme with a Tiger image. I think Andreas will recognise this location , a man made water hole and the Tiger normally comes out to drink when the temperature sores and the light becomes quite harsh . A recent fire in the jungle disturbed the tiger as it was its only place to drink water but the smell and heat generated as a result of the fire made the matter worse .

Cropped slightly from top and LHS , DPP 4, CS6 , Nik filter ( used for the first time ) , slight sharpening .

Canon 500mm f4 IS II , HH, Canon 5D MK III

    ss 1/1250, f10 ,iso 1000.

All your C&C's are most welcome.

Hi Haseeb - Always great to see a wild tiger. I like the open mouth and up close feel of this one. You did well with the dof and sharpness. It just looks a bit dark overall for the conditions you describe and the whites are a bit grey. Easy fixes with the RAW. Did you lighten the eyes? Btw which Nik filter? Looking forward to more.

    TFS,
    Rachel

HI Rachel -- Thank you for your comments . I cant remember the name of the filter , will check the psd files for that . Very slightly sharpened up the eyes , haven't done any thing else to them . In the meanwhile a RP brightening up the things , thanks for bringing this up. WDYT ?

Hi Haseeb - I think you went too far. Somewhere in between your op and the rp.

Haseeb - Are you going back to the RAW file to make your changes? The whites still don't look right and seem to have some blue now.

Hi Haseeb, the light looks quite bright & harsh, the whites in parts aren't blown, or appears not to be, but the whites & blacks do make for quite a 'Contrasty' look & feel. The lower chin is looking a bit jagged too.

I like the crop and snarling 'back off' capture, the small piece of 'drool' adds.

    Hello Haseeb,
A wonderful and rare sighting indeed, very well captured! Well framed too, love the expression from the subject, techs do look good to me, nice work out there in the field

Light might have been a bit harsh but the RAW should be great to work with, I think the operator behind the computer should be a tad more gentle with PP work though:)

What I would really like here is more detail around the eyes where the blacks are a tad choked, and please remember Nik can be a tad harsh if not applied at very low percentage and only where needed. Love the pink tongue, blood smeared whiskers, smashing pose with that snarl and nice HA from this handsome cat. Whites a bit hot but can be fixed (somewhere between the OP and RP).

You can do so much more with this, such a special image Haseeb! Give us another RP, please

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

    Hi Haseeb

Love this youngster and his attitude!
Do you mind to send me or Gabriela the Raw and we can try our hand at it?
Love to show you two different interpretations...
    Regards

    Andre.
