    Avian Sanderling in Breeding Plumage

    This Image was shot on sea shore at Bolivar Peninsula, TX. This was shot during rainy day just after severe Thunderstorm. Beach was completely flooded and I saw lots of Sanderlings scouting for food.

    I used Skimmer Ground Pod to get really and close to the subject.

    Nikon D7100
    Sigma 150-600 f/5-6.3
    f/6.3
    1/1600 sec
    ISO 1250
    Manual Mode

    Post processing involves
    • Minimal Crop
    • Spot Removal
    • Clarity, Saturation Increased
    • Noise Reduction and Sharpening

    Good job of getting low, using the skimmer worked well for you here. Nice, sharp bird image with a fine clean background. Unfortunately, this little fellow is looking away from you so the head angle is not very good. I also think this is underexposed which makes it dark, flat, and it also has a blue cast. All easily fixed in PS.

    Hi John,

    Thank you for the feedback. Yes I agree it has blue cast. I made the necessary corrections in the Lightroom.

    The RP is nicer in terms of the overall look, but unfortunately you can't change the head angle.

    Shame, as I like the low POV and the 'dreamy' look,
